Three Games Left
The Phillies have three games left in their 2008 season and in all reality should aim to win all three to clinch the division title.
The Mets, with their 7-6 walkoff win over the Cubs on Thursday night, are now only one game out of first place behind the Phillies.
As it stands now, the Phillies will send Joe Blanton, Jamie Moyer, and more than likely Cole Hamels to the hill to finish the season this weekend.
Sunday’s fan appreciation game is sold out and tickets for Friday and Saturday are going like hotcakes.
The Phillies welcome in the lowly Washington Nationals for the final three games of the season, which is the team they clinched the divisional title against last season.
Meanwhile, at Shea, the Mets welcome the Florida Marlins to town for the final three regular season games ever at Shea Stadium. Citi Field will open for baseball beginning with the 2009 season.
If the Phillies win; they are in.
Win and you’re in. It’s as simple as that.
