What will happen?

That is the most important question facing Phillies fans this week as the team’s brass heads to Las Vegas, Nevada for the annual Winter Meetings.

At those meetings the Phillies will try to lock up Jamie Moyer as well as maybe make a run at Pat Burrell while also checking in on their offer to Derek Lowe.

The Phillies will also look to explore other free agent options and trade options for replacements for Burrell in left field if he is to leave for another team.

What will the Phillies do in the Rule 5 Draft?

Will they find another Shane Victorino like they did in December of 2004 when they drafted him from the Dodgers.

They offered him back but the Dodgers didn’t want him back. Oh well, their loss. Victorino now has a ring at the expense of the Dodgers in the NLCS.

So, what will happen?

We shall see what the Phillies brass can do for the 2009 version of the team while at the Winter Meetings this week in Las Vegas.
