The Phillies announced on Wednesday that they had invited nine additional players to Spring Training.
The team extended invitations to left handed pithcer Antonio Bastardo, right handed pitcher Gary Majewski and Yorman Bazardo, infielders Jason Donald and Marcus Giles, outfielders Jason Ellison and Jeremy Slayden and catchers Tuffy Gosewisch and Paul Hoover.
Of the nine players invited to Spring Training, four of them are Phillies prospects that were drafted or signed as amateur free agents by the team.
Those four are Bastardo, Donald, Gosewisch and Slayden.
Giles, Hoover, Bazardo, Majewski and Ellison all have previous Major League service time. Majewski was with the Reds in 2008, Hoover was with the Marlins, Bazardo was with the Tigers, Ellison was with the Rangers and Giles did not play.
